# Do I have to select a participant to chat?

## Once the event is live, all you have to do to engage in a chat is make your status available and click chat.

As participants get in line in your booth, they will be randomly distributed amongst your booth’s representatives. You will not need to select a participant to start a conversation. Chats are all one-on-one through text, and last for a set chat time(lengths vary by event).
